The 11th Annual KISS AND RELEASE Salmon Release THANK YOU!!!!!

On May 16th, with all the fan faire and celebration we could muster, 2000 Chinook Salmon Smoltz were released into Richardson Bay in Tiburon. Over 1,000 people came out to listen to the Music Of Brett Boyd and enjoy the many information and interactive booths from organizations like Trout Unlimited, Marin Rod and Gun Club, The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Central Sanitation Marin and their Association of Sewer Agencies, Mill Valley Stream Keepers and many more. They were all cheered on by the Redwood Varsity Cheerleaders.

Coastal Clean Up Day at Blackie's Pasture!!!!!

Please come and join the fun as Tiburon Salmon Institute joins the state wide effort to clean up California's Coast. We will be at Blackie's Pasture in Tiburon on September 20th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. We will be working on the bay waterfront of Richardson Bay. We need all hands on deck to make this beach clean for all animals that share this habitat with us. This is part of a statewide effort going on at beaches across California. There will be a contest for the most unique item found, the most garbage collected, as well as a BBQ at the Bay Model in Sausalito after the clean up.

We Have a winner of the Poster Contest!!!!

Thank you to all the entries we received to our poster contest. We received some amazing entries. We are pleased to announce that Maya Popper of Edna MaGuire's 4th Grade Class has won our poster contest. Her Kiss and Release art will be posted all over the Bay Area as we get ready for our Salmon Release on May 16th. Thank you Maya for a wonderful Poster.

Beach Clean Up Day!

Thank you to all our supporters who braved the elements to come out and clean up Blackie's Pasture Beach on September 21st. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. Nevertheless, about 20 Brave souls came out in the rain and collected a pile of trash off the beach. This was a very good way for some students to earn their community service hours. TSI always is in need of helping hands. If you would like to volunteer or earn some community service hours, please call me and we can arrange some fun work that will help you give back to our community.
