The 11th Annual KISS AND RELEASE Salmon Release THANK YOU!!!!!

On May 16th, with all the fan faire and celebration we could muster, 2000 Chinook Salmon Smoltz were released into Richardson Bay in Tiburon. Over 1,000 people came out to listen to the Music Of Brett Boyd and enjoy the many information and interactive booths from organizations like Trout Unlimited, Marin Rod and Gun Club, The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Central Sanitation Marin and their Association of Sewer Agencies, Mill Valley Stream Keepers and many more. They were all cheered on by the Redwood Varsity Cheerleaders. People enjoyed the food put on by the Tiburon Fire Department at their wonderful BBQ, and children enjoyed sliding the down the Giant inflatable slide.

The weather cooperated allowing the fish to be released after a lengthy acclimation period where they became comfortable with the Bay water. Everyone participated in the Native American Blessing Ceremony and the fish are on their way to complete their life cycle in the Pacific Ocean.

A Big THANK YOU to everyone who helped out. It was truly one of the best Salmon Releases in out 11 year history. We hope to see you next year!!!!!
